New Year, New Schedule

This is how I took the news when my human told me she was returning to the workplace after nearly 11 years at home.  Not.  Well.
She assured me it won't be that traumatic...she's working part-time, three days a week, and hopes to keep it that way.  So that still leaves two days a week all for me, plus the weekends.  But I'm not convinced...we'll see how it goes.
My human's pretty jazzed about "using her brain again", whatever that means...she gets to work in a very cool section of NYC called Soho, which has lots of neat shops.  A couple days ago, she saw Kiefer Sutherland at the shop where she was buying soup...it was full of foreign tourists and no one else recognized him.  She said he was a lot shorter than he looks on TV (but still cute!).
I just wanted you all to know that I won't be commenting/posting as often as I used to, but I won't be going away and will do my best to keep up with all my furiends' goings-on.
Don't forget about me, m'kay??

  4. Poor Doney... Why DO those silly humans have to "work" when they could cuddle with us all day instead?? I mean, really - why go through all that stress? Well, as they say - absence makes the heart grown fonder!! You guard the house know, ok??

  5. Sedona -
I feel your pain - but it will be ok. My human leaves me 5 days a week - so I decided this is my apartment - I make the rules - and I allow her to come and go. (As long as she pays the mortgage & maint. that is!).

SoHo is fun - and pretty dog friendly - maybe you could go WITH HER from time to time. My mom tried but her office is in Rockefeller Ctr - and the building had a problem! She just told them I was going to be on-air, and they let me in! HA!

  7. Hi Sedona,

This change will take some getting used to but I think you will find the hoomans soon feel guilty for leaving us home alone and try and make it up to us with new toys and more treats. Just be sure to give her the sad puppy dog face when she leaves and do the very happy dance when she comes home.

Are you going to work, too? I mean - guarding the house and stuff? Remember to take lots of naps, OK?

  10. Oh, Girlie! I understand how you feel....that is how I feel every Monday. It is good for your human Mom since her human kiddos are getting older and starting to do their own things. I am just getting caught up with your last several posts and I loved your ice skating videos....watched them about 3 times! Mom and I never get enough of you!

  11. It is hard for us when our people change their schedules. It won't be too bad once you get used to it Sedona.

i don't deal with change very well either, and so i "know" how you feel / felt.

good for your mom, though, that she gets to use her brain again - keeps her on her toes when trying to keep up with you and your quick thinking, right?
    *lol*

cheer up, my dear friend and toller sister - it'll be alright, you'll see!

  16. We are happy for your mom going back to work again after eleven years. We know you may be sad, but just think about the extra treats and toys your mom can get you now. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
