Since one of them recently had a birthday, I thought this would be a good time to introduce my doggy blog friends to my siblings of the meow-variety. I have a love-hate relationship with them...I LOOOOOOOOOOVE them, one of them hates me and the other is more-or-less indifferent.
This is Yquem (pronounced "ee-KEM"). She was the first baby in my humans' family, fur- or otherwise. She is a Chartreux and is 13 years old. She is the mellow one and will come up to the gate to check me out (I'm still banished to the kitchen/playroom until I'm old enough to not chew the furniture). But our occasional face-to-face meetings haven't gone so well, since I'm a little, ahem, "enthusiastic". I just want to play, and she's a bit of a diva. My human says she has the softest fur ever. In fact, in the 18th century, the pelts of "the blue cat of France" were prized by furriers--eek! Good thing my sister didn't live back in those times!
My other sibling is Poki, who just turned 12. He's a Tonkinese and is terrified by me. He will not come up to the gate to say hi and high-tails it whenever he catches a glimpse of me. The last time our human brought him over to the gate so we could sniff each other, he hissed at me and left nasty scratch marks on her legs in his hurry to get away (not on purpose). I'm so sad 'cuz I know we'd be great buddies if he'd just give me a chance. Oh well. My human says he's very smart (he figured out how to open a closed door in their old apartment) and very agile (don't ask how he ended up on the top of the door below). He was also a certified therapy cat for 2 years & visited nursing home residents and handicapped kids.

Hope you enjoyed getting to know the cool kitties I share my house with! Do any of you have a feline sibling or two?
Hi Sedona! Love your sibling intros! They are beautiful kitties - my brother had two Tonkinese for a while - gorgeous - and I've never heard of a Yquem - but she is lovely! Nice that the kitties are so good to you! Ozzie taunts and teases me - once in a while, Ozzie will do a post in my stead! Hehe!

Hey Sedona
ReplyDeleteYou have very pretty kitties. Leo loves us but our other kitty, not so much, so we know how you feel.
Tucker and daisy
Hi Sedona,
ReplyDeleteThe only cat I have ever met is my mom's brother's cat, Boobie. He is okay, but can be kinda grouchy sometimes. It's confusing cause you never know if he will hiss and scratch you or be nice and play.
Mom says your kitties are very pretty. She used to have two cats. They died, then she got me and Banjo.
Wags & wiggles,
Bijou
Sedona-
ReplyDeleteYou share your house with such elegant felines!! Think I'd like to meet Yquem since we share a French heritage :)

Hey Sedona! Wowzers, that's so cool that you have cat siblings! I love cats -- and so does my sister Stormy. Dave and Ammy... not so much. I have some cat pals in the neighborhood but it's nowhere near as cool as having them in the family! Your sister and brother are really great!
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
Zim
Thank you for sharing those pictures. I don't have any cat friends at all. I am kind of scared of them when I see them outside. I hope you can go in the other rooms soon, you sure are cute Sedona.
ReplyDeletelicks and sniffs, Sasha
Nice to meet them!

I am glad you like them cuz it wouldn't be much fun having to live together if you fought all the time.
I'm sorry you got in so much trouble, we will have to work on that. I think a Limo is a great idea! I would love to plan a night out on the town....now if only my Mom knew how to photoshop some photos. She tells me you have to have the program to do that but I think she is full of it and just doesn't want to help me.
Love and hugs,
Twix
PS: Mom said she loves watching you grow up and you are getting sooo big!
Hey Sedona - Thanks for introducting your kitty sibs. I have 3 of them. I love them. They all tolerate me but only one of them will actually roll around and play with me. I'll have to do pics of them again one day. Glad to know you like the metrosexual pup like me! Me and Dad are proud to strut our stuff!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sedona,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet your kitties. They look like nice kitties. I don't have any kitties but I do have 2 hamsters............Rosie and Coco. I like to bark at them, but they don't seem afraid of me. They always come up to the glass and look at me. Have a fun day with your kitties.
~Lexi~
your feline siblings are very beautiful, sedona!
ReplyDeletei don't have any siblings, furry or skin, but there are many felines in the same apartment building, and i have managed to sneak off and chase a couple of them - they're FAST!
